Boost Your Practice's Future: $15,000 Grants for GPs in Regional NSW
Are you a General Practitioner (GP) considering a move to or staying in the beautiful regions of New South Wales (NSW)? Now's your chance to secure valuable funding! The Hunter New England and Central Coast Primary Health Network (HNECC PHN) is offering a fantastic opportunity through the 2025 GP Relocation and Retention Grants program.
This program is designed to strengthen the stability of the primary care workforce by encouraging GPs to live and work in regional, rural, and remote communities. It's a win-win situation for both GPs and the communities they serve.
Here's the lowdown:
- Grants Available: Eight grants of $15,000 each are up for grabs to support GPs relocating or GP Registrars staying in eligible areas.
- Eligibility: General practices located within the Modified Monash Model (MMM) 3–7 regions of the Hunter and New England PHN footprint are eligible to apply.
- Funding Support: The grants can be used to support:
- A GP relocating from outside the HNECC PHN region to take up a position within an eligible MMM 3–7 location.
- The retention of a current GP Registrar within an eligible practice.
- Application Process: Expressions of Interest (EOI) are now open via the HNECC PHN SmartyGrants portal and close at midnight, 30 November 2025.
