A Life Well-Lived, A Legacy of Love and Compassion
It is with profound sorrow that we share the news of the untimely passing of Craig Tremblett, a man whose gentle spirit and dedication to his family and community left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Frederick Craig Tremblett, born on July 30, 1964, in Botwood, NL, was a beloved son, husband, father, and friend. Growing up in Bishop's Falls, NL, Craig's passion for sports, particularly hockey and softball, shaped his journey and influenced his career choices.
But here's where it gets interesting: Craig's athletic prowess led him to pursue a degree in Physical Education at Memorial University. He not only taught Phys Ed and grade five but also went on to earn a master's degree in education, taking on leadership roles as an elementary school vice principal and later as a principal. His impact on the lives of young students was immense, as evidenced by his affectionate nickname, 'door-man,' at Roncalli Elementary School.
Craig's commitment to his family was unwavering. He married Catherine, and together they raised four children who inherited his love for sports in their own unique ways. Craig coached hockey and soccer teams, attended ballet recitals, and cheered at swim meets, always making sure his children knew they were his pride and joy.
In 2021, Craig embarked on a new chapter, moving to the west coast of Newfoundland. Here, he cherished the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting trips with his father, Frank, and lifelong friends Doug Trask and George MacDonald.
Craig is survived by his four children, Victoria, Sarah, Luke, and Beth, and his parents, Frank and Doreen Tremblett. His siblings, Don, Rosanne, and Nicole, along with an extensive network of family and friends, mourn his loss and celebrate his life.
Craig will forever be remembered as a kind, soft-spoken, and generous soul. His impact as a teacher, colleague, coach, and friend was profound, touching the lives of countless individuals.
We find solace in knowing that Craig has been reunited with his beloved pet and best friend, Felix, and his mother-in-law, Eileen Green, with whom he shared a special bond.
Our deepest gratitude goes out to all who have offered support during this difficult time. Craig's memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Craig's life will be held at Carnell's Funeral Home on Freshwater Rd. in St. John's, NL, on Thursday, January 1st, 2026, from 2-5 pm. A visitation and funeral service will also take place at Hoskin's Funeral Home in Bishop's Falls, with specific details to be announced soon.
In honor of Craig's deep bond with Felix, donations can be made to the Exploits Valley SPCA or School Sport Newfoundland and Labrador Inc.
And this is the part most people miss: Craig's story is a reminder of the impact we can have on others, even in the simplest of ways. His legacy teaches us that compassion, kindness, and a love for life can leave an everlasting mark. So, let's celebrate Craig's life and continue to spread his spirit of generosity and love.
